Skoll social entreprenuer Global Footprint Network has just co-published, along with the World Wildlife Fund and the Zoological Society of London, the Living Planet Report 2008 (PDF).  Sober reading.  According to the report,  three quarters of the world’s people now live in nations that are ecological debtors, where national consumption has outstripped their country’s biological capacity.  Overall, human demands on the world’s natural capital measure nearly a third more than the planet can sustain. The report also highlights the growing challenge of seasonal water stress, and its negative impact on diversity and natures ability to regenerate.
